PhD candidate at NTNU, Department of Mathematical Sciences.

Hi! My name is Philip and I am currently completing my PhD for the department of mathematics at NTNU. In 2020 I completed my masters degree in mathematical statistics at Rhodes University in South Africa. The research topic for my masters was Bayesian accelerated life testing for the Weibull distribution under various non-informative priors.
For my PhD, I will be working with Bob O’Hara (CBD) and Anders Finstad (NTNU) on developing flexible dynamic species distribution models (SDMs) to model aquatic biodiversity. The aim will be to run the SMDs using integrated datasets from data provided by the Norwegian Artsdatabanken (i.e. using data provided by citizens).
